There have been hundreds of thousands of books written around the world with different languages and styles and perception and even point of view about what it takes to be successful in the business industry; a thousand more of articles written over the web that discusses the topic, and a thousand more will be written tomorrow.
With such a broad subject and with so many roles to play, it can really get difficult to boil it down to a short list of things that anyone can read and apply in their lives. However, across those hundreds and thousands of books and articles, you’ll find some common themes and I have been very patient to summarize all the common principles and ideas I read from those countless articles and books. Here are those things that you’ll find yourself currently have or the things that you need to obtain:
One. In business, it’s already given that you have to understand finance. The reality of most successful business ventures couldn’t be farther from truth—if you want to have a business, you really going to need money. Yes, of course, MONEY. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean you need to have a lot of money when you’re just getting started but more importantly understanding how finance works and how your money will grow over time in the smartest way. To be a successful entrepreneur, you need to know how to take good care of money and make it work for you.
Two. Be bold and fearless even though you are to face those hurdles and heavy baggage. In business, you have to have the spirit of overcoming the fear of jumping into a business. Most people dream of having a successful business someday but never really started its steps; the one reason that they cannot start might be the fear of failure. However, this is only the beginning phase of for those who truly want to be successful in business; overcoming one’s fears is a noble thing but the true obstacles of a fearless entrepreneur are constant. But one thing is certain, one who failed miserably and will never be scared of getting up again and try harder and harder to dust themselves off until they are successful, they are the ones who are truly fearless.
Three. Once you take the leap in starting a business, you’ve already begun the journey of becoming a leader. You must learn how to be a leader on some kind of level in order to motivate others to join your venture, belief in what you preach or event give you money for a product or service that you offer. You don’t have to be a dandy to be a leader, sometimes, it just comes down to just having the right charisma and message to get the people to do the things that need to be done. Always remember, a great soldier may be good in leading troops in the field, but not managing the whole war.
Four. Use your authority, your influence, your leverage as they say. A successful entrepreneur isconstantly finding ways to create profits and new opportunities each and every day. Have you heard of an old and well-known saying about lemonades? “When life gives you lemons, make lemonades”. This is a good example for your business to move forward. Many people will make a lemonade but drink it themselves but a legit entrepreneur makes some lemonade and sell it to those without lemons and use the profit that he gained to make some more lemonade or move into another business. You might not want to venture out on other things so you have to be constant but also think of upgrading your business, “think out of the box”.
Five. Business, in the long run, has two effects: Fail or succeed. If you fail, then you failed. But you have to try again until you become successful in the chosen industry. On the other hand, if you succeed, well congrats! You achieved your goals—but how do you really justify the true meaning of success? Is it the money you’vegained from your profits or influence you made in the environment, or the sales you get? To tell you, at the end of this process, real success in business only matters if it also equates to the success of your life and that all starts with having the right attitude towards it. To have a truly happy and fulfilling life, it’s important to develop values around what you can do each and every day to make that world of yours a reality. Yes, you wanted all the riches and other stuff around you all your life, you dreamed of being a successful businessman but what do those things do when we all die? You can’t bring them with you when you go after life or wherever you go right after you die!
The entrepreneurs who focus on how they can reach success and wealth that can help others who are battling and struggling with the cruelty of the world have the right attitude needed to obtain true happiness and be seen as a positive light to others is the true epitome and embodiment of the word “success”.
